Hindu Book Club is set to host a special online book review session featuring “Silent Gods, Burning Temples – The Cost of Refusing Ghar Wapsi” by author Amit Agarwal on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The session will explore the historical themes discussed in the book, including Ghar Wapsi, Shuddhi, return to Hindu society, identity, community, collective memory and civilizational continuity.
The discussion will examine historical cases and narratives from Odisha, Kashmir and Bengal, along with examples involving Harihar, Bukka and Shivaji Maharaj. The event will also feature a live audience Q&A and an interactive discussion with the reviewers.

About the Author
Amit Agarwal is a mechanical engineer from the University of Roorkee, now IIT Roorkee, and a 1990 batch alumnus. He has authored several books focusing on Indian history, temples and India’s cultural heritage.
